Notice
Following a review of the Buildings at Risk Register we have paused the Register while we consider options for its future.
The website will remain accessible and searchable during this time, but it will not be updated and we’re not accepting nominations for additions to the Register. If you need to contact us about the BARR please email hmenquiries@hes.scot

Development History
5 May 2015: Nominated for the Register as a disused church. Monitor for re-use.
21 February 2023: Member of the public reports that there has been increased deterioration over the past few years to the church and graveyard. A window has been broken and boarded up.
12 April 2023: External inspection finds the building remains disused. Whilst the roof is intact, overhanging tiles to west and east gables are slipping/ lost and timber bargeboard beneath has exposed timber, subject to rot in sections. Rainwater goods are intact but rusting. Walls appear plumb, areas of render loss towards the wallhead and beneath a downpipe suggest they may have been leaking, some likely weathering to the western gable. Single storey porches are in worse condition - slate loss to West and engulfed in ivy to East which is extending over the main structure. Trees have established in close proximity to walls. Principle windows are boarded over, western window is intact. Security fencing surrounds the former church but a door is lying open. The building has recently being marketed for sale. Move to At Risk.
6 July 2023: The former church is no longer under marketing for sale.
16 August 2023: Historic Churches Scotland report that the property was sold by Church of Scotland to a restoring purchaser in 1984.
