Development History
12 June 2015: Nominated by a member of the public as having ceased trading around 2010 and remains disused. For Investigation.
7 June 2016: External inspection finds the but disused but without signs of serious decline. Monitor at Alert.
11 July 2019: A member of the public nominates the building for the Register as remaining disused and with condition issues. Moved from Alert to For Investigation.
11 January 2020: Member of public nominates building for inclusion on register. Building disused, evidence of possible roof damage.
15 December 2021: Limited external inspection possible - the rear elevation could not be assessed and there was restricted visibility of the roof pitches. The property is disused with the exception of the right-hand shop unit - the remainder of the building being unoccupied. A sign in the upper window suggests it is under marketing for lease. From what could be viewed, the principle issue with the property is growing dampness. Limited inspection of the roof pitches was possible, from what could be seen the ridge is intact, there are some missing slates. Erosion to a chimney stack was observed, mortar loss and opening joints was also observed. Dampness beneath rainwater goods suggest they are defective. Spalling is notably an issue to the front elevation and a section of cornice is missing. Dampness at the base of walls to the side elevation was noted, along with algae growth. Timber elements appear to be in better condition albeit in need of maintenance. Window glazings are intact to upper floors. Windows are partly boarded to the ground floor. Move to At Risk.
