Development History
24 July 2018: Nominated by a member of the public as vacant for circa four years and subject to vandalism. Last in use as council offices, the site was sold to developers who have secured conditional consent (16/00068/FULL & 16/00069/LIST) for conversion into sheltered housing. The Hillfoots and Alloa Advertiser reported (20/7/2018) on the formation of a local action group concerned for the deterioration of the building. For Investigation.
5 April 2019: Limited external inspection due to safety fencing erected around the building.

The property, last in use as council offices, is extensive and includes a modern extension. The complex is in a parkland setting and not overlooked by neighbouring buildings - acts of vandalism are apparent in a number of broken window glazings. From what could be viewed the roofs appear to be in fair condition generally but with slipped slates evident. Rainwater goods are in poor condition - blocked and damaged in places. Walls are also in poor condition with dampness evident in various places - plants are establishing. Move to At Risk.
6 March 2020: A member of the public reports concerns from the community over continued deterioration as a result of exposure to elements and ongoing vandalism. They also highlight the work of Friends of Greenfield Alloa group who are campaigning to bring the house back into use.
31 August 2021: STV News reports (30/08/2021) the building has been purchased back by Clackmannanshire Council in order to pursue regeneration through their Be The Future transformational programme. The article goes on to report a full condition assessment is now being carried out
