Description
Late 19th century. Unusually decorative castellated chimney stalk with off-set stages and carved detail. Octagonal, built of red ashlar and set at W wall of walled garden, square pavilion blocks survive at N and at S ends of latter. (Historic Environment Scotland)

Development History
21 January 2022: Nominated as in deteriorating condition as per Glasgow Times article (14/01/2022)
1 June 2023: External inspection finds the complex is overall in very poor condition - the stalk is in better condition that the two roofless ranges adjoining. The stalk appears relatively plumb with protective straps to upper stages. There are some signs of dampness with salts evident in places, and vegetation is establishing. A lightening conductor is affixed but the grounding section is missing.
The two adjoining ranges are roofless. There is widespread mortar loss, patches of damp with some salts evident. Render to the brick connecting wall is spalling. The rear walls are damp with algae growth across, and leaf litter has accumulated to the base of walls. Wallheads are unprotected and to rear, there are loose stones to the extant stone courses. Ivy has engulfed walls to the south, and trees are growing to the interior.
Lower level openings are secured and a surrounding security fence appears to have been recently installed. Move to At Risk.
Post Survey Update: Local planners report the council's property management team retain an ambition to repair the structure but there aren't resources to undertake the necessary works at this time. The property's condition is subject to ongoing monitoring.
