Development History
13 January 2023: Advised that the church may face demolition. Currently without a roof and extensive stone repairs needed.
4 May 2023: External inspection finds the main building to be roofless. The roof of the hall to the west appears to be intact. There is vegetation and algae growth on the masonry. The masonry also appears to have sections of deterioration and active issues of damp. The lower windows and the entry doors are covered by metal sheeting. The uncovered upper windows have several broken panes of glass. Fencing is in place around the site with signage stating that demolition is in progress. There are no signs of current works or protective measures put in place for the remaining building fabric. Move to At Risk.

An application is currently pending consideration for demolition of existing church building with listed façade retained (ref: 21/00475/BW). A warrant was previously granted for the erection of 29no. Domestic residential dwellings & 1no. Non-domestic church facility behind existing listed façade (ref: 20/02606/BW). Permission has been granted subject to conditions for internal and external alterations associated with conversion of church to form residential flats (29 units) church/community facilities and associated works (ref: 19/01405/LBA and 19/01408/FUL).
2 April 2024: Urban Realm reports (20/03/2024) a second public consultation has been held ahead of a detailed planning submission in May. They report that the extent of structural and fabric repairs has seen developers prioritise a full demolition of the building.
