Development History
July 1992: Permissions are sought for the block's demolition. SCT objects, and instead refers the property to the National Trust for Scotland for consideration for its Little Houses Scheme. August 1992: External inspection reveals the block to be a roofless ruin. The demolition application is subsequently refused, although new housing is permitted in the grounds. March 2000: No change reported. October 2006: Letter sent to owner returned marked 'addressee gone away'. Details removed from record but retained on file. October 2007: External inspection reveals exposed wall heads and there appears to be a major structural crack. There is a danger of collapse should no action be taken to consolidate the building.
July 2010: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous visit. Deterioration continues.
20 May 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
29 April 2019: External inspection finds the building in much the same condition as previously seen. Appears stable, although there is a prominent crack on front wall.
2 May 2024: Full planning permission (23/01195/FULL) was conditionally approved for change of use to form an extension to dwellinghouse, 12/10/2023. Documents within the application note the applicant's surveyor has recommended temporary propping is installed to prevent further deterioration of the structure.
