Description

Former Fishery Office; earlier-mid 19th century, 2-storey 3-bay; whitewashed rubble. East facing facade with centre door flanked to left by longer ground floor windows with lying-pane glazing; 4-pane glazing to 1st floor windows; tooled margined, glazed recess with barometer to left of centre door; corniced end stacks; slate roof. Development History
November 1997: External inspection reveals the house to be vacant and deteriorating, though the walls and roof remain in reasonable condition. Local planners report that there are plan to restore it as a holiday cottage. 1998: Local planners report that the house has been repainted. April 2003: External inspection reveals the house to remain vacant but to be in fair condition.
June 2011: Highland Historic Environment Record advise building featured is the category C(s) former fishery office. Record updated accordingly. The building remains vacant with the ground floor windows boarded over.
2 October 2013: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously. Boarding to the upper level seaward side has been recently replaced.
17 March 2014: Local planners advise Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for restoration have been granted ref: 12/02159/FUL & 12/02160/LBC.
8 July 2014: Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for the restoration of the building back into residential use were conditionally approved 2012 ref: 12/02159/FUL & 12/02160/LBC.
22 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains disused.
