Development History
June 1990: External inspection reveals that the mill is no longer in use. Though it remains structurally sound and is roofed, it is beginning to show signs of serious disrepair, including broken windows, blocked gutters and moss growth. It is surrounded by abandoned agricultural implements. SCT understands that it was leased for restoration as a working mill some time ago, but little happened and the arrangement was later abandoned. January 1995: The Factor of the Wemyss and March Estates reports that recent works had been carried out to make the building wind and watertight and secure from pigeons. Some repainting and reroofing has been undertaken and openings blocked. Though the Estate does not have plans for the mill, it would not wish to sell or lease the property. January 2000: No change reported. May 2002: The owners report that it is Estate policy not to market its buildings to outside parties but to renovate with a view to letting. Spring 2004: External Inspection finds the mill remains vacant.
May 2009: External inspection finds the walls and roof of the mill to be in a good state of repair. The glazing has been lost to the windows however, leaving the interior open to the elements.
July 2011: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
