Description
2-storey 3-bay symmetrical cottage. Rubble; droved ashlar dressings, chamfered at 1st floor window openings. W ELEVATION: square heraldic panel above doorway at centre with initials PL (Patrick Levingtoun) and MF and re-cut erroneous date 1390 (should read 1590). Boarded 2-leaf door. Small square 1st floor lights and larger, flanking doorway. E ELEVATION: large opening blocked at ground. Square opening above. Some timber sash and case frames retained. Gables formerly crowstepped; brick gable end stacks. Pantiled roof with slate eaves easing course to W. INTERIOR: hooded chimneypiece to N gable, stone chimneypiece to S gable.

Development History
1987: The building is described as in poor condition by Historic Scotland. June 1991: External inspection reveals the building to be vacant and partially boarded-up. Part of the roof has collapsed. January 2002: No change reported.
March 2008: Local planners report the building remains at risk - the building has suffered a further roof collapse.
April 2011: External inspection finds the building has deteriorated significantly since the previous site visit and is now in a ruinous state.
3 December 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
