Description

2-storey, shallow H-plan with long, slightly irregular south facing 4-bay elevation. All coursed rubble with contrasting tooled ashlar dressings. Slightly advanced outer finialled gabled bays, off-centre entrance with
panelled door flanked right by ground and 1st floor bipartites; similar bipartites in right (east) gable and tripartites in west gable, both ground and 1st floors. Symmetrical 2-bay west return gable (1 ground floor window blocked); mainly 4-pane glazing in narrow window lights;
coped paired ridge and end stacks; slate roofs. Single storey lean-to extension links outer rear gables.

Rebuilt on site of manse of 1779. In this or the earlier manse lived the Rev. Dr Norman MacLeod and his son Rev. John MacLeod, both ministers of Morvern Parish. (Historic Scotland)

Development History
May 1994: External inspection reveals the manse to be unused and in poor repair, although the roof remains in relatively good order. October 1994: Local planners report that a private individual is interested in taking out a long-term restoring lease. The interior has suffered from an ingress of water, but areas of rot are localised. October 1995: Local planners report that the expression of interest has been withdrawn due to access issues. January 2000: Local planners are unaware of any change. March 2007: Local planners advise SCT that an interested party have contacted them with a view to purchase the property. Local planners have contacted the current owner of the property, querying their intentions for it.
November 2011: A member of the public advises the building remains at risk and is in deteriorating condition.
29 May 2013: External inspection finds the building has deteriorated significantly since last visited. The West wing roof has collapsed and much of the interior has been lost. Elsewhere roof coverings have been lost, gutters and downpipes are leaking and much vegetation grows elsewhere.
22 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk.
