Description
Former coachhouse and butler's quarters for Shielbridge House with crowstepped gables and a lantern tower bellcote. The building rises to a single storey with a crenellated parapet and a steeply pitched slate roof. The front elevation features large round-arched vehicle entrances, that to the centre surmounted by a shaped pediment.
Shielbridge House, demolished 1951, was built for CD Rudd by architect Sidney Mitchell in an Arts and Crafts fashion around 1900. A new rock garden down to the River Shiel was also created complete with pools, exotic shrubs, conifers and South African blue gum trees. (Mary Miers)

Development History
October 1996: External inspection reveals the building to be in need of maintenance and repair. SCT understands that the owner had considered converting it into a house, but estimated costs led to the erection of a new dwelling nearby instead. January 2000: Local planners are unaware of any change.
4 September 2012: Desk based assessment suggests that the building remained disused in 2010.
30 May 2013: Limited external inspection possible. The site may potentially be in use as storage space. The roof appears to be maintained well.
22 February 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk.
