Development History
October 2002: Permissions are sought for the conversion of the boat house, which has stood unused since 1996. SCT objects to the scale of the proposed extension. December 2002: Permissions have now been granted, though permissions are also being sought for the erection of 10 dwellings nearby and SCT understands that it is the intention to restore the boat house after the new-build is complete. SCT pushes for the boat house to be included in the initial phase.
November 2008: External inspection finds the building in very poor condition, having deteriorated since the previous SCT visit. There is a roofless section, significant vegetation growth on both the exterior and interior of the building and it is unsecured and open to the elements. The roofed section has deteriorated significantly since the last SCT visit with large holes and rafters exposed.
December 2009: External inspection finds the condition of the building has deteriorated since the last SCT visit: the roof sarking is deteriorating rapidly.
30 August 2012: External inspection finds much of the remaining roof structure has now collapsed and the gable at the roadside is beginning to lean outwards over the road.
