Development History
February 2008: External inspection finds the building to be derelict and appears to be in partial use for storage. One window glazing unit has been put in and another large pane is broken.
Garrion Tower and Farm were the subject of a planning application for a tourist initiative and Housing Development in 2000. SCT submitted objections to the plan. The application went to public enquiry, from which recommendation was to refuse the application. Scottish Ministers accepted the Reporter's recommendations and also refused planning permission.

13 November 2014: Site visit attempted but was not possible.
20 May 2024: A Proposal of Application Notice was submitted in 2020 (20/PAN/00600/PAN) for a housing development on land adjacent to Garrion Tower. It is unclear whether the frontage of the farm was proposed for retention - mapping submitted within the notification suggests this was the case. A Building warrant (21/02371/NLC) granted for the demolition of farm house and out buildings.
