Development History
14 January 2013: Advised as being in need of refurbishment. No longer functioning as a church, transferred to Scottish Redundant Churches Trust (SRCT)ownership around 2001. The church requires extensive repair and conservation after a prolonged period without ongoing maintenance - for which the Trust is fundraising towards. In use occasionally for services, but otherwise disused. For Investigation.
12 March 2014: External inspection finds the church in overall fair condition but with slipped slates, areas of damaged harl and with one broken window glazing. The surrounding graveyard is maintained. Rainwater goods are all clear. SRCT is monitoring the condition of the church but significant investment is required to fully repair the building and bring the former church back into use. Move to At Risk.
5 June 2017: Scottish Redundant Churches Trust reports the church has undergone major re-roofing and drainage works, supported by grant-aid from the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund, the National Churches Trust,Perth & Kinross Heritage Trust and funds raised through film-hire to the Outlander production. Refurbishment of sash and case windows will be carried out during 2017 with funding from a private trust.
SCRT is currently fundraising towards re-roofing the west-facing pitches and roof ventilator. In the longer term the Trust, subject to funding, wishes to complete other works such as re-harling and reconnection to mains electricity with a view to secure a long-term viable future for the building.
