Development History
7 May 2015: Local planners nominate the building for the Register. The public house is advised to have been disused for 3 years and the upper floors are not thought to be in use. For Investigation.
15 October 2020: Local planners note the building remains disused despite consent for conversion to a restaurant being approved.
27 March 2023: Street View from August 2022 shows signs of damp and cracks to the render on the front of building. Wooden shop façade and window frames shows some signs of rot. Part of door is missing. Plant life visible on roof and in gutters. Remain For Investigation
5 April 2023: External inspection finds the building to remain vacant. The rear elevation cannot be assessed due to access. The roof appears to be intact with a few lifted slates. There is some moss and grass growth on the roof and in the rainwater goods. The render on the front elevation is cracking and damaged at the western side of the ground level. It appears that there is mortar loss below the skews to the rear of the east chimney. The timber frontage is weathering and shows signs of damp. The upper glazing appears intact, although the timber frames are weathered. There is some graffiti on the coverings of the lower windows and the entry doors. The building appears to be secure on the street-facing elevation. Move to At Risk.
