Development History
21 July 2015: External inspection finds the building appears mostly disused - the ground floor public house is closed and the upper floors facing Wallace Street also appear disused. The retail unit to Cowane Street elevation is in use but it is unclear whether the upper floors over the restaurant are also in use. The tenement's roof is in poor condition with numerous slipped and missing slates. The roof pitch to Wallace Street is in notably worse condition with protective boards having been erected. Rainwater goods have been leaking in places, appear rusty in others with vegetation growth evident. Render is failing to the brick chimney stack. Full Planning Permission and a building warrant for the conversion of the former public house to form a pizza delivery restaurant has been approved 15/00164/FUL.
8 December 2015: The former public house (to the ground floor) is now in use as a takeaway pizza restaurant. The upper floors appear to remain disused.
8 September 2021: External inspection shows some repairs have been made since previous survey in 2015. Rainwater goods and chimney render repaired. Roof remains in poor condition with protective boards installed on west and south elevations to prevent slate falls. Upper windows in fair condition with flaking paint. Upper floors remain vacant.
