Development History
July 1990: External inspection reveals the lodge to be uninhabited and falling into disrepair. There is some slate slippage and the timberwork is rotting. October 1991: SCT understands that the roof and dormers have collapsed following a fire. November 1994: SCT understands that the walls have been consolidated and doors and windows blocked up. The lodge is now owned by a London-based interior designer who intends to restore it for private use. January 2002: Local planners visit the property and report no change.
November 2010: Local planners report the building remains in ruinous condition. Ownership details are advised as being out of date, with new owner advised as Robin Johnston Stewart.
July 2011: External inspection finds the building remains a roofless ruin, increasingly enveloped by plants. The roots of trees growing adjacent to, and inside, the structure threaten its stability.
12 March 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
14 August 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk.
