Development History
December 1992: External inspection reveals the lodge to be empty and boarded-up. Some slates have slipped from the roof. December 1996: SCT understands the lodge may be restored as part of the proposed Millenium Forest Centre. External inspection reveals that the roof has now collapsed. March 1999: The Garden History Society expresses concern at the lack of an integrated management plan for the landscape at Dunkeld, and notes a lack of co-operation between the separate owners of discrete elements of the estate. It notes that certain elements are being allowed to fall into increasing disrepair. December 2000: External inspection reveals that severe deterioration has taken place and the property is in a perilous condition. The entire roof has now collapsed.
September 2009: External inspection finds the building remains in ruinous condition. Trees are growing in and around it, destabilising the masonry. The chimney appears to be in a precarious state. The door lintel has collapsed. Wallheads are unsecure with loose masonry in several places.
September 2011: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
6 February 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
7 April 2017: A member of the public advises the chimney recently collapsed.
15 July 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk.
