Single storey school building on cruciform plan. Entrance porches project from either side of the road-side elevations. Red sandstone construction, hipped slate roof with gabletted roof vents.

Development History
February 1992: External inspection reveals the school to be vacant and boarded up.
October 2009: External inspection reveals that the building remains vacant. The roof is in poor condition with sections of flashing missing which suggests that water is leaking into the building.
August 2010: A member of the public contacts SCT to advise the building is now being marketed for sale, offers in excess of £215,000, through Howat Associates
28 October 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously. Full Planning Permission for change of use, conversion and extension of former primary school to form 3 dwellings was conditionally approved Jun 2010 ref: 10/0107/PP.
18 March 2015: The former school is being marketed for sale along with the former school house through agents DW Shaw , price on application.
27 October 2020: Local planners report the property is under restoration in part. Moved to Restoration in Progress.
21 January 2022: Planning permission (18/0277/PP) conditionally approved for change of use from school building (class 10) and conversion to form dwelling (class 9).
