Description
Two-storey painted brick building with 6 irregular bays to front and piended slate roof. Single storey extension to east with corrugated iron roof. Corbelled eaves course. Mostly sash and cash windows.
Appears on the 1st edition (1:2;500 series) OS map. Given the similarities in scale and decorative details, it is likely this building was constructed around the same time as the Category C(s) Listed 21-23 Murderdean Road, for the Dean Oil Works. May originally have been housing, thought to latterly have functioned as offices. The corbelled detail is also utilised within parts of Lady Victoria Colliery.

Development History
May 2009: External inspection suggests that the building has been derelict for some time. Ground floor windows are boarded up while those on the first floor are mostly smashed. The roof of the single storey extension has multiple holes. Its walls are damp and there are bushes growing on flat surfaces.
23 May 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit, although some tidying up of the buildings and basic maintenance has been carried out.
25 February 2020: Previous planning applications for change of use from offices to restaurant with outdoor carwash and valeting area have lapsed, the most recent being 10/00008/DPP.
2 February 2022: External inspection finds the building to be in poor condition with increasing risk due to exposure to elements and vandalism. The windows of the upper level are entirely missing or all glazing is broken due to vandalism, exposing the interior to the elements. Entry door is missing. Fencing has been erected on front elevation and to rear, but fencing to rear has been damaged and indicates unauthorised access.
