Notice
Following a review of the Buildings at Risk Register we have paused the Register while we consider options for its future.
The website will remain accessible and searchable during this time, but it will not be updated and we’re not accepting nominations for additions to the Register. If you need to contact us about the BARR please email hmenquiries@hes.scot
Read the review report here and you can find out more about why we have paused the BARR on our news centre.

Development History
July 2009: External inspection reveals that the building is vacant. The glazing has been boarded over and there are no signs of ongoing maintenance.
1 June 2012: External inspection finds no significant change from the previous site visit.
1 August 2013: The owner of the building contacts BARR to advise they are keen to bring the building back into use and are exploring options for the site.
7 October 2014: External inspection finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously.
3 December 2019: Limited external inspection - rear elevation couldn't be seen - finds the building remains in much the same condition as seen previously. It is presumed to retain some form of flat roof to the front elevation, although this could not be seen. A marketing board advertising the property for sale through agent rfduff.co.uk is affixed - the land on which the property sits is being marketed as a development opportunity. Risk moved to High.
Full Planning Permission for the erection of a 1 1/2 storey house on the site has been conditionally approved (19/00915/PP). Conservation Area Consent for demolition of the building has been withdrawn (16/00383/CAC).
