Development History
8 May 2014: External inspection finds the building in a poor condition - it would appear flashings etc have been removed, presumably stolen, from the structure resulting in damage to the slates, leaving the roof in poor condition. Rainwater goods are missing or clogged with weeds. Walls are very damp around the entrance. Windows and doors are boarded up. The site, latterly in use by the NHS, is disused. Planning Permission in Principle for residential development of the land around Ladyfield East (the listed villa being subject to separate applications for restoration) is being sought. The application notes an outline intention to retain and bring the lodge back into residential use ref: 13/P/3/0165.
2 August 2024: Desk-based assessment suggests the building remains At-Risk. The property is being marketed for sale by Ryden as part of a development opportunity for Ladyfield East.
